How to Save the World, One Small Step at a Time

Be part of an exhibition, or help us deliver a programme of workshops and activities – and help to build a better future.
23 Aug – 9 October 2022

The Pannett Art Gallery, is delighted to have received funding from Sirius Minerals foundation, for an exciting project to raise awareness and encourage action to combat Climate Change.

We are inviting all creative people to submit an artwork for the late summer exhibition “One Small Step”.

Artworks can be in any medium and must illustrate one small adaptation to lifestyles that people can easily adopt, to help to tackle climate change, reduce carbon emissions, or improve the environment.  The action your artwork is illustrating must be included, in legible text on the artwork, or in the title to be displayed alongside the picture in the gallery.

An eclectic mix of styles and artforms will create a vibrant exhibition that everyone can be a part of, combining the work of early career individuals with those of established artists.  We will display as many artworks as possible as long as they are suitable for a family audience.  We encourage the use of recycled materials in the creation of artworks, which may include painting, printmaking, collage, embroidery, poetry, mixed media or other.  All entries should be two dimensional and must be standard A4 or A3 size frames.  Framed works or unframed canvas must be ready for hanging, with D-rings or Screw Eyes attached.

“This exhibition will encourage us all to think of ways we can help to improve our environment. It will become a visual guide to the many small ways we can all do our bit to help tackle climate change” said Councillor Linda Wild, Chair of the Pannett Art Gallery committee.

The exhibition will be on display at the Pannett Art Gallery, 23 Aug – 9 October 2022. “We are anticipating a fabulous selection of original artwork, showcasing a wide variety of styles and artforms, all with a positive environmental message” said art gallery curator, Helen Berry.  For an exhibition application form and full terms and conditions please check the Pannett Art Gallery website, or you can email the gallery, or simply call in next time you are passing.

Alongside the exhibition the Pannett Art Gallery will be running a programme of workshops and activities.   Help us to deliver a programme of workshop and activities – click here for application details. Keep checking the Pannett website to find out more about these.
